Hi, I’m Spencer M. Harrington.
I started Violet Specter Media as a space to explore storytelling, editing, sound, and style—especially through short-form media that blends clarity with creativity.
I’m currently finishing up my final credits at the University at Buffalo, where I’ve been working with the Department of Ecology to edit immersive 360° video captured in Costa Rica to bring diverse climates to life for educational audiences. I am also exploring film, fashion, and culture through GenreThreads, a podcast and curated visual series.
I pride myself on bringing a personal curiosity, hands-on discipline, and a strong visual sense to all my work.
GenreThreads is a podcast and curated visual series exploring film genres through story, fashion, and culture. Each episode dives into the mood and meaning behind iconic films, with handpicked looks and historical context to match. Visit GenreThreads.shop
I am editing a series of immersive 360° videos for the University at Buffalo’s Department of Ecology, transforming raw footage from Costa Rica into standalone segments that showcase the region’s diverse climates in virtual reality. Designed to support learning for students who may not have the opportunity to travel, the videos feature motion graphics and visual enhancements to deepen engagement across educational platforms.
Have an idea, question, or project in mind? Let’s connect! Whether it’s film, story, or something in between.
